Eat your greens!

It can sometimes be tough to fit in all those healthy greens everyday, especially with the wet and cold West Coast weather!

 

Whether its the boredom you feel with the same old broccoli with dinner or a time crunch to prepare a fresh salad, Sahara Delights can help make things tastier and faster!

 

We thought up two easy ways to add more greens to your everyday meal plan, served up hot or cold. Stay tuned for episode II which will feature our "cold" favourite!

 

This recipe showcases the versatility of greens and a few key ingredients - namely, Sahara Delights Artisan cold pressed olive oil!

 

Elise Bauer from Simply Recipes posted this fantastic "hot" greens recipe that your stomach will crave for days! 

 

Sautéed Garlic Greens

  1. Wash, dry and coarsely chop your favourite greens. (We combined Kale, Swiss Chard and Purple Kale). 

  2. In a pan, saute 4 garlic cloves, one onion in some olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt + pepper. 

  3. Once your onions and garlic have cooked down and begun to caramelize (medium heat is best!), add your greens. Toss for 5 minutes or until the greens are light cooked but still crunchy.

  4. Add a healthy dash of pine nuts and raisins.  

  5. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons Sahara Delights Olive oil and sprinkle with paprika and Sahara Delights date sugar.
